Registration For Zee Aptitude Test

The Essel Group is one of India's largest business houses with a diverse portfolio of assets in Media, Technology, Packaging, Infrastructure, Education, Precious Metals, etc. The Group operates several brands, of which Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL) is one of India's largest news networks comprising 14 news channels in different languages.

Zee Media is embarking on a talent hunt journey aiming to recruit future journalists and reporters for Pan India. Majority of the positions are available in North East locations and Southern India locations.

The programme is open to students of all streams (i.e both journalism and non-journalism students are eligible for the selection process)

Zee Media Selection Process

The selection for this will comprise multiple rounds including the following:

  • A pan-India national examination called the Zee Aptitude Test (ZAT)
  • Submission of student assignments
  • Interviews with Editorial and HR

The students will be trained to become multi-lingual, multi-format journalists skilled in the latest tools and techniques including Mobile Journalism (MoJo) and Artificial Intelligence.

Post their selection into the training program, students will be provided conditional job offer letters from Zee Media (offer will be honoured subject to their successful completion of the training course).

The training period will be for a total of 9 months starting from July 2019 and shall be delivered by Zee Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA) centers in Mumbai and Noida; for which students shall have to pay INR 1.5 lakhs + GST as fees.

Loan facility is available on Course Fee for the selected students. Payments can also be made in Instalments.

The training includes 3 months of paid internship in Zee Media with a stipend of upto INR 10,000 per month. Post the completion of the internship, the student will be employed by ZMCL.

About ‘Zee Aptitude Test’

The first step of the selection process i.e. the Zee Aptitude Test is scheduled on 14th April and 2nd June 2019.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Should Hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA and graduated in 2018 and 2019.
  2. The degree has to be awarded by any of the Universities included by an act of the central or a state legislature in India, or any other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or are declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the MHRD, India.
  3. Applicants who are appearing for the final year of their bachelor’s degree and the candidates who have completed their graduation degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
    If selected, candidates will be allowed to join the training program provisionally, only if he/ she submits a certificate from the Principal/Registrar/Director of her/his University/College/Institute (issued on or before May 30, 2019) certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks as on the date of issue of the certificate and that the candidate has completed all the necessary requirements including appearing for final exams, for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification as on the date of issue of the certificate.
  4. ZMCL or ZIMA may verify eligibility of shortlisted students/applicants at various stages of the selection process. Shortlisted candidates are required to produce all the original mark sheets in support of their eligibility. If in any case, it is found that the student/applicant has not fulfilled the eligibility criteria or he/she has submitted false documentations of their eligibility, then, in that case, the application of the candidate will be forfeited.

Exam Pattern

The Zee Aptitude Test (ZAT) will be an online exam and feature a combination of General Knowledge MCQ’s and subjective essay based questions in regional language. The duration of the test is for 2 hours. The candidate should ensure that a WebCAM is available on their laptop/deskop while giving the test.
